Freeth Cartwright appoints local government head
FREETH Cartwright has boosted its local authority practice with the appointment of Nathan Holden to head up its new Birmingham-based local government division.
Holden joins from rival law firm Mills & Reeve with well over a decade of local authority legal experience, acting both in-house and in private practice. His Freeth Cartwright remit will be to lead and grow the firm’s local government practice.

Squire Sanders beefs up its corporate team
SQUIRE Sanders has expanded its corporate team in Birmingham with the appointment of lawyers Nina Martyres and Claire O’Connor.
Martyres joins from from Cobbetts, where she trained and was a member of the corporate and banking team since qualifying in 2009. She has wide ranging corporate law experience, including advising on mergers and acquisitions, advisings clients on both domestic and international corporate transactions.
O’Connor trained at Squire Sanders and has recently qualified into the corporate team. A graduate from The College of Law in Birmingham where she was awarded the College LPC Prize for Commercial Law, she has international M&A experience, having worked alongside lawyers from Squire Sanders’ global offices on cross border transactions.
George Green expands its real estate team
BLACK Country law firm George Green LLP has expanded its real estate team with the appointment of solicitor Rebecca Taylor.
Taylor, who qualified in March 2009 will be based at George Green’s new office in Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton and will be working alongside team head Kevin Styles and rest of the team.
She previously worked for FBC Manby Bowdler.
Taylor specialises in the acquisition and disposal of both freehold and leasehold commercial properties. She is also experienced in all aspects of business leases and provides corporate support in relation to the property aspects of business transactions.
Styles said “I am delighted that Rebecca has joined our team and I hope she has a long and successful career with George Green.”
