HCB is city bound with Young & Lee acquisition

SOLIHULL law firm HCB Solicitors has taken over Birmingham city centre firm Young & Lee.
No figure has been put on the deal.
Young & Lee, based at The Wharf in Bridge Street, has become the fourth West Midlands company in the past three years to join the HCB group, which now has offices throughout the region including Lichfield, Walsall, Sutton Coldfield, and Stratford upon Avon.
Besides offering legal services in corporate, commercial and personal law, Young & Lee specialise in law for dentists in such areas as dental partnerships and disputes as well as the purchase and sale of practices.
Currently it has five directors and five legal assistants who will be staying with the firm under its new title of HCB Solicitors, Young & Lee.
Mike Gahan, chief executive of HCB, said: “Young & Lee fits well into our large programme of legal services and builds on our corporate and commercial city lawyers’ strong base.
“It has always been our ethos for each of our departments to be expertly peopled by city-trained lawyers and Young & Lee adds to that.
“Birmingham is a major centre for the legal profession and it is fitting that such a large group as ours should have a presence at its core.”
The acquisition comes at the same time as HCB has launched a major initiative with Age Concern Birmingham to provide ten minutes free advice on any legal matter to those who use the charity’s services.
An HCB team of experts in commercial and personal legal matters, man a dedicated phone line to advise older people on the best course of action to take on issues affecting them.
