A F Blakemore agrees tyre deal with Goodyear Dunlop
BLACK Country cash and carry business A.F. Blakemore & Son has signed a deal with Goodyear Dunlop that will see the tyre manufacturer become the sole supplier to its 500-strong fleet of vehicles.
The undisclosed deal, which will see Willenhall-based Blakesmore’s use a combination of Goodyear’s Regional Haul range and NextTread products, was brokered by Truck Tyre Solutions – a member of Goodyear Dunlop’s TruckForce network.
The TruckForce Network provides a breakdown assistance and tyre replacement service across the UK. It is made up of 15 equity owned hubs and over 30 independent service providers.
Carl Falconer, sales director at Truck Tyre Solutions, said: “A.F. Blakemore has been a Truck Tyre Solutions customer for a number of years and when they requested a national tyre deal with a premium manufacturer, we involved Goodyear Dunlop.
“We have worked closely to develop a bespoke package for A.F. Blakemore to meet their requirements and are confident that this deal will enable (them) to realise maximum value for their tyre investment.”
As a partner of TruckForce, he said the firm would back-up its service to Blakemore’s by utilising ActionLine, Goodyear Dunlop’s 24-hour breakdown support network as well as the FleetOnlineSolutions (FOS) Fleet Management system.
Dave Higgs, general manager of distribution at A.F Blakemore, added: “Having worked with Truck Tyre Solutions over a number of years, we have confidence in their recommendations. Working with Goodyear Dunlop they fully understood the commitment we have to our current service provider. We developed a package that is personalised to the specific needs of our fleet giving us total transparency of our full operation.”
Marc Preedy, commercial director at Goodyear Dunlop Tyres UK Ltd, said: “This is a fantastic win for us that saw us work closely with Truck Tyre Solutions to arrive at a package of products and services that will meet the exact requirements of A.F Blakemore.
“The package includes both Goodyear’s Regional Haul range, as well as our retreaded NextTread product, which is manufactured at our site in Wolverhampton.”
