Harry Moseley Charity Ball is a sell out

NEXT week’s Harry Moseley Charity Ball at the ICC in Birmingham has sold out.

Some 1250 people have booked their seats for what is planned to be a fun-filled event to celebrate Birmingham schoolboy Harry’s short but very worthwhile life.

Wolverhampton-born soul singer Beverley Knight is to perform at the ball next Friday (19th) and other celebrities are lined up to appear.

The event is being staged to raise money – hopefully as much as £50,000 – for the Help Harry Help Others charity.

Businesses large and small have flocked to be a part of the event, touched by the story of Sheldon schoolboy Harry and his selfless attempts to raise more than £700,000 for cancer charities by selling hand-made bracelets and touring schools and businesses up and down the country – all this despite the fact he was suffering from an inoperable brain tumour.

Harry died a year ago this week but his charity work has been carried on by his mother Georgie who established the Help Harry Help Others charity.

A charity shop has now been opened in Birmingham’s Yardley area and it was visited this week by Chelsea footballer John Terry who met Harry before he died and remains a keen supporter of the charity.

The Harry Moseley Charity Ball is being organised by former Big Brother contestant and Birmingham corporate lawyer Peter (PJ) Ellis of Weightmans and Tim Andrews, managing director of Tyseley-based signage company Hollywood Monster.

PJ Ellis said: “It was my idea about 12 months ago to this day to get the people of Birmingham together to celebrate the life of Harry Moseley.

“Tim Andrews and I teamed up soon after to make this happen and have since been overwhelmed and humbled by the response to the evening and could have sold another 1,000 tickets!

“We are already planning next year’s ball.”
