Vet group expands after Midven cash injection
SOME 25 new jobs have been created in the West Midlands as a result of the expansion of the YourVets Group, which has four practices in the region.
YourVets has created 19 new posts in Solihull following the establishment of a new veterinary care centre in Olton. A further six posts have been created in Coventry.
The new jobs follow continued expansion of the group which last month had an investment from Midven’s Exceed Fund of more than £500,000. The money is being used to both open additional practices and to improve the practices already in operation.
The company now has some 135,000 clients.
Founded in 1997 in Coventry, under the Pet Vaccination Clinic (PVC) brand, practices provide affordable preventative veterinary care for pet owners.
The company went through a management buy-out by its current owners in 2005, since when revenue has increased significantly through organic growth and new site development. The PVC name is still used for its traditional small practices, but for larger ‘super’ vets, the YourVets brand is adopted.
Janet Martin, CEO of YourVets, said that opening new branches would enable the group to reach a larger section of the market.
“There are around 26m pets in the UK, 16 m of which are cats and dogs, and we offer only primary veterinary services at highly competitive prices. By offering that service to large urban populations, we are confident we can continue to grow quickly,” she said.
