Quest visitor attraction unveiled at Merry Hill today

MUSEUM design and display business Paragon is today launching the first of its own visitor attractions at Merry Hill shopping centre.

The business has invested £1m to create ‘Quest’ at the shopping centre, an attraction including an indoor rope adventure course and a Christmas-themed ice rink and festive market.

It also includes the world’s first ever NERF blaster target range. NERF Blasters are toy weapons made by Hasbro that fire foam darts, discs or foam balls. The attraction is supported by a NERF retail unit.

Occupying a total area in excess of 20,000 sq ft, ‘Quest’ at Merry Hill also includes a café as well as an outdoor area which will host a changing programme of family-based leisure activities. Further attractions will be opening over the next few months and will be announced in due course.

The opening marks a significant milestone for York-based Paragon which has previously designed interiors and building displays for other operators but is now moving into owning and licensing its own attractions.

Chief executive Mark Pyrah said: “The look and feel of this distinctive attraction has exceeded even our highest expectations.

“We have worked closely with Westfield to create this unique and innovative offering and we look forward to developing this relationship going forwards.”

Merry Hill is owned by retail developer Westfield and attracts more than 23m visitors every year.

Kelly Reed, marketing manager at Merry Hill, said: “We’re really excited to be unveiling the new Quest attractions here at Merry Hill.

“Quest will add a whole new dimension to the shopping experience and will further enhance its reputation as the region’s most popular retail and leisure destination.”
