DCS Europe takes 75,000 sq ft of space to boost growth plans

ENTREPRENEUR Denys Shortt’s DCS Europe company has signed a lease for a 75,000 sq ft warehouse at St. Modwen’s Long Marston Business Park in Stratford.

DCS Europe – a manufacturer and distributor of  health and beauty products – is taking the space vacated by vehicle services company JohnsonVellen just eight weeks ago.

The deal will increase the distribution space available to DCS by 50%, which will significantly aid its growth plans. The company aims to hit £200m sales by the end of 2015 with the anticipated creation of an additional 30 jobs. DCS is projecting £150m sales this year.

Shortt, founder and CEO of Stratford-based DCS, said: “A sign of business success is when orders exceed the capacity of the site you own. The extra warehouse at Long Marston Business Park is welcomed and will provide much needed additional space.

“We will be investing over £250,000 in the Long Marston site with racking and forklift trucks and expect to create ten  more jobs.”

He added: “We recently moved to Barclays Bank and their extra funding has really accelerated our growth. It proves there is business out there to be had and with the right bank supporting you it is possible to go and win it.”

Jim Quantrill, retail and wholesale relationship director for Barclays corporate banking division, said: “DCS is a tremendous success story with a highly respected management team with drive and vision. Securing the lease on the new warehouse in Long Marston Business Park will enable the business to expand its current storage capacity and is a huge step forward in terms of realising the company’s ambitious growth plans.”
