Bullring footfall tops the million mark as crowds head in One Direction

MORE than one million visitors have crowded into Birmingham’s Bullring Shopping Centre in the penultimate week before Christmas.

The centre is now looking forward to a bumper pre-Christmas period as shoppers take advantage of the extra weekend before the festive holidays.

The footfall topped the million mark after 340,000 people flocked to the centre during last weekend.

Tim Walley, General Manager at Bullring, said: “We’ve experienced another busy weekend at the centre with footfall like for like with the same weekend in 2011. As well as another full week of extended trading we essentially have an extra weekend so we’re looking forward to a bumper pre-Christmas week.”

Top selling products at the centre include the One Direction 2013 calendar and The 2012 London Olympic Games DVD at HMV, and Primark Christmas jumpers and Ciaté advent calendars at Selfridges.
