Security firm charts growth after £50,000 CCTV investment

A SECURITY firm has invested £50,000 in a new CCTV operation to support growth ambitions.

RMP Specialist Services, part of the RMP Group, said the new facility at its Shropshire site would help it move into monitoring closed circuit cameras, even on a global basis.

Jon Hill, managing director of the security company, said he was also hoping to expand the business to escorting extra wide loads throughout the Midlands road network.

Mr Hill, who took over the Stafford Park-based company in 2011, said: “The last 12 months has been record breaking for the RMP Group and we want to continue that success.

“These are exciting times for the company and it is vital we take every opportunity to increase trade and become the best in the business in 2013. We have been able to invest in new premises as well as in new staff. We have seen a number of areas where we could potentially expand, including ensuring extra wide loads travel safely through the region.

“We also want to make the most of our CCTV suite and it is amazing to think we could be monitoring cameras in places thousands of miles from Telford.”

The RMP Group is also showing growth across other operations, with RMP Events now qualified in supervising road closures and signage, while the medical branch of the Events has also been launched.

Trevor Bate, of RMP Events, said: “The huge number of people asking for medical services is what inspired the company to invest in the new branch.”

It has purchased a fully-equipped ambulance which can be taken to events, while it also has 20 fully-trained first aiders.

The RMP Group includes specialist security services, door supervision, key holding and CCTV in public spaces; locksmith services; electrical; automotive; events organisation and entertainment inflatables.
