All aboard the love train

FORGETFUL Valentines commuting between Birmingham and London have no excuse for neglecting their sweethearts today after a rail operator used the most romantic day of the year to lay on a special love train.

Chiltern Railways is running a special trolley service on its services between the first and second cities offering passengers the chance to buy a selection of classic Valentine’s Day goods.

Champagne, artisan cheese, chocolates and bunches of flowers were all provided, while cards were also on sale, the proceeds of which will be donated to the British Heart Foundation.

Jennifer Payne, Customer Service Director at Chiltern Railways said: “Valentine’s Day has a habit of creeping up on you and before you know it you’ve run out of time to buy that all important gift for a loved one. This year, we’ve transformed our trolley to offer an array of gifts from champagne to heart shaped cheese.”

Passengers upgrading to the ‘premium economy’ Business Zone also received a complimentary glass of bubbly.
