Tech firm Probrand wins award for Olympic legacy work

TECHNOLOGY services provider Probrand, which has bases in Birmingham and Manchester, has won an award for its role in helping schools to own a piece of the 2012 Olympic Games.

The firm has been accredited by the Olympic Delivery Authority for delivering ‘Olympic Classrooms’ – bundles of desktop computers used at the London event – to schools across the UK.

Probrand worked closely with Olympic partner Acer on the initiative and its efforts have been rewarded by being named Acer Reseller of the Year.

Kath Slaughter, Acer Partner Account Manager, said: “Probrand was an obvious choice to help us pass on the legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games.  The team always demonstrates a ‘go to’ attitude and embraced the challenge of ensuring schools would have access to a small slice of Olympic magic.”

Probrand’s Richard Hunter-Rice said: “At a time when education is looking at new and cutting edge methods of engaging and stimulating students, the ‘Olympic Classroom’ offered a highly relevant, topical and unique opportunity.

“Ultimately, education establishments have received very rare Olympic legacy equipment that can be used to inspire students.”

The Olympic Delivery Authority accreditation joins Probrand’s other accolades, which include: a Queen’s Award for Enterprise Innovation, CIPS’s ‘procurement excellence’ and ‘Best Practice Best Value’ from the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
