Promotions at Pinsent Masons

PINSENT Masons has announced a series of promotions at its Birmingham office.

The appointments see Alex Burton (Corporate); Rebecca Stephen (Financial Institutions & Human Capital); Andrew Herring (Litigation and Compliance); Chris Thomas (Litigation and Compliance); Robert Pettigrew (Property); Jo Alderson (Strategic Business Services) and Ruth Andrew (Strategic Business Services) all promoted to Senior Associate.

In addition, Sam Routley (Financial Institutions & Human Capital) has been promoted to Associate.

Enoch Evans sharpens up with new appointment

Sarah Sharpe, newly-qualified solicitor at Enoch EvansTHE Corporate department at Walsall law firm Enoch Evans has expanded with the appointment of newly-qualified solicitor Sarah Sharpe, left.

Ms Sharpe joined the firm in April 2011 and has now completed her training contract. She has spent the past two years developing her knowledge and experience in all aspects of company and commercial law, including drafting and negotiating shareholders agreements, dealing with and advising on corporate finance documents and advising on all types of commercial agreements. She also has extensive knowledge of dealing with share sales and purchases.

She undertook her LLB Law degree at the University of Wales and has been offered a contract with the firm and will assist in developing and boosting the already excellent reputation of the well-established corporate department.

Commenting in the appointment, Sukie Shemar, Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial said: “I am pleased to welcome a new member to our team who I am  sure will fit in well and will add value to a team that prides itself on  providing a comprehensive commercial service to our range of clients.”

Hat-trick of promotions at Thomas Horton

From left: Matthew Horton, Fiona Lawson-Hughes, Jeff Taylor and Richard HullBROMSGROVE-based Thomas Horton has announced a trio of partner promotions as part of plans to strengthen the firm’s presence in the region.

Richard Hull, Head of Criminal Legal Services who has worked at the legal firm for eight years is now the practice’s Deputy Managing Partner. Fiona Lawson-Hughes, Head of Children’s Matters and Jeff Taylor, head of the firm’s Corporate and Commercial division have both been promoted to full partnership status with immediate effect.

All of the new partners will join Matthew Horton and Graham Morgan in full and equal partnership, marking the end of the 36-year partnership between them both.

Matthew Horton, managing director, said: “These promotions are very well-deserved and mark the beginnings of an exciting time at Thomas Horton. All three of them are extremely talented individuals with a wealth of experience and they all have a passion to drive the practice forward.
