Jaguar voted UK’s best auto brand and Land Rover most improved

JAGUAR is the number one automotive brand in the UK, according to data collated in a new motoring survey.

The Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Survey (VOSS) also concludes Land Rover is one of the most improved brands in the marketplace, rising to sixth place on the list and entering the top 10 of manufacturers for the first time.

Data from the survey is analysed by J.D Power and Associates in partnership with UK car buying guide; What Car?. Together they have identified Jaguar as Best Brand in the UK for the second successive year and named Land Rover as their 2013 ‘Star Brand’.

Jaguar also claimed top spot for its XF model in the J.D Power and Associates / What Car? survey Executive Car category. The XF is Jaguar’s highest-selling product and has received more than 100 international awards since its launch. The XF was given five-star ratings for performance, service and running costs.

Jaguar UK dealers received a commendation in the study, and were reported to be helpful, accommodating and provide servicing and repair work at reasonable costs.
Land Rover has shown consistent steady improvement in the survey climbing to sixth place from 12th in 2012 and 14th place in 2011.

The Land Rover Discovery was the best performing vehicle for Land Rover, up 29 places and coming top of its class for reliability. The Land Rover Freelander also showed improvement scoring particularly well in terms of ownership experience.

Jeremy Hicks, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover UK, said: “Jaguar and Land Rover have excelled in the results of this study and we are proud that our cars and dealer network have performed so well.

“The new car market is fiercely competitive and to have a British manufacturer placed as the top automotive brand by UK car buyers for the second year in a row is a phenomenal achievement.

“We aim to offer customers outstanding products through an aggressive growth plan, made possible by sustainable investment in design, engineering and manufacturing here in Great Britain.”
