Oakland CSR work to get royal seal of approval

THE CSR work of a Worcestershire logistics company is to receive the royal seal of approval.
HRH The Princess Royal will launch The Oakland Foundation at Redditch food distribution specialist Oakland International when she visits the firm later this month.
The Princess will hear about the Oakland Academy, a dedicated staff training facility, and will unveil a commemorative plaque to launch The Oakland Foundation, before meeting volunteers from Oakland International and local charities supported by the Foundation, as well as representatives from Oakland’s longstanding CSR community based initiatives.
Oakland International formalised its charitable activities via the Oakland Foundation; supporting four core initiatives of Health, Nutrition, Education and Sport to help underprivileged children in the local Redditch and Bromsgrove communities.
Dean Attwell, Oakland managing director, who will accompany the Princess during her visit, said: “This is fantastic news and positive acknowledgement of all the hard work undertaken by the local business community and our team members – it is a real honour for our business to be considered worthy of a visit by a member of our Royal Family.”
During the visit the Princess will also attend a Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Symposium, which is being hosted at the Oakland site, where she will meet and talk with the various representatives from local companies.
Mike Ashton Chief Executive, Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce said: “It is a real honour that HRH The Princess Royal will be visiting Oakland International and a real opportunity for Oakland and other local businesses to showcase the good work that they are doing with community based initiatives.”
