Rugby logistics firm targets further European growth

A WARWICKSHIRE freight company has is targeting additional overseas growth after linking up with a German trading partner.
Exact Logistics, based on the Dunchurch Trading Estate in Rugby, has linked up with German transport system CTL, which is owned by 120 individual transport firms which join forces to deliver and collect pallets across Germany and Europe.
Exact Logistics enhanced its standing within the network by achieving a rare 100% service performance in June for on-time delivery and collections.
Adam Shuter, managing director of Exact Logistics, said the performance was a significant one within the logistics sector and positioned the business for growth.
“As a new member of CTL we are delighted to achieve 100% on-time performance for our partners as it gives them real confidence in our service quality,” he said.
“We have achieved this performance through careful attention to detail, by checking all delivery or collection information and by providing the maximum amount of information to our delivery partners to nip any potential problems in the bud before they leave our depot.
“We have invested in our own software system to assist us and applied our skills built up in UK distribution to the international market to make sure everything is correct before the pallets leave for their destination whether that is Berlin or Birmingham.”
Aided by the performance, the company is now stepping up its overseas marketing with the launch of a new German website and a quarterly newsletter.
It has supported its expansion attempts by working with Asset Language Management, of Henley-in-Arden, after finding out the translator through a UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) seminar organised by the Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce.
“Whilst we want to maintain our British identity we recognise that it is important to communicate with our customers in their language,” said sales and marketing director Karen Shuter.
