Hummingbird encouraged by latest gold drilling programme

BIRMINGHAM-registered gold and minerals exploration firm, Hummingbird Resources, has said it is very pleased with the results from its latest drilling programme.
The company said the results from the 15-hole programme reaffirmed its confidence in the Liberian operation. The 2013 drilling programme has so far stretched to 15,802m.
Hummingbird is currently the holder of the largest area of mineral exploration ground in the highly prospective Birimian geological region of eastern Liberia. It has estimated the extraction operation could yield 3,835,000 ounces of gold.
Dan Betts, chief executive of Hummingbird Resources, said: “The widths and grades of these intersections are very promising as the company is currently progressing its DFS (Definitive Feasibility Study) and updating its geological model.
“Hole TDC128 with 67m at 2.08 g/t gold is extremely encouraging. This backed up with other significant intersections gives us continued confidence in the robust nature of our resource.
“The company is currently progressing the various work items necessary to advance the DFS as fast as possible and these drill results, which will feed into our new resource, are an instrumental part of the process.”
