Aerospace supplier enjoys record growth after fresh investment

A BLACK Country toolmaker is experiencing record growth following a period of investment and expansion.

Tooling design and build specialist BWP Technical Services, part of the Erodex Group, serves several sectors but is best known for its involvement in aerospace.

The Halesowen business has invested in new software and recruited designers to create a new project team specialising in the aerospace sector. The move has paid off with new orders received in the first five months of this year exceeding the total for the whole of last year.

The growth pattern is a mirror of the findings of the latest Manufacturing Advisory Service Barometer, which shows manufacturing SMEs are investing in plant and technology in order to capitalise on growing demand.

BWP aims to provide a one stop shop for all tooling and workholding design and build requirements. Its new project management team has taken this a step further by providing a much-enhanced service, which keeps customers informed of progress throughout all stages of the design and build process.

The investment in the company’s design capacity has paid off and is now 80% larger than last year, with an office set to open in September.

It said the new design office would give the business a greater profile in the north of England and provide a base of operations for the project management team.
