New mortuaries at QEH equipped with AV system

HEALTHCARE technology firm Brandon Medical has equipped post mortem rooms at a new £545m hospital in Birmingham with a specially-designed audio visual system.
The system allows images of the post mortem table in the mortuary at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital to be viewed in seminar rooms elsewhere in the hospital for training purposes.
Each room has been fitted with cameras able to pan, tilt and zoom which can be controlled by people outside as well as intercom systems that allow live two-way communication.
Brandon Medical has also installed HD-LED lighting that helps those working in the mortuary to distinguish between similar coloured tissues.
The QEH is the first new hospital to be built in Birmingham for 70 years and will eventually replace the existing Queen Elizabeth and Selly Oak Hospitals.
Leeds-based Brandon Medical is a manufacturer of a wide range of healthcare-related technology including operating theatre lamps, surgeons control panels and emergency power systems.
