Anderson’s Bar and Grill confirms restaurant number two

BIRMINGHAM eatery Anderson’s Bar and Grill has confirmed that it is to open a second restaurant.

The St Paul’s Square steak restaurant – formerly known as The Bucklemaker – is popular with the city centre business community – and now the venue’s owners are hoping to replicate that popularity in a less urban setting.

Its second restaurant will be Anderson’s at the Bull’s Head in the village of Wootton Wawen near Henley-in-Arden.

The Bull’s Head is one of the Stratford Upon-Avon area’s original Grade II listed buildings, dating back to the 1700’s, and has period features such as exposed timber beams, large gardens and additional out houses.

Anderson’s director Daniel Anderson, along with co-directors Simon Marsh and Nick Cruddington, have invested more than  £100,000 into setting up Anderson’s at the Bull’s Head, and say the venture will create up to an 20 new jobs.

Their plans include an outdoor oyster and shellfish bar, a smoke house where they can produce Anderson’s very own smoked salmon and cured meats, and a kitchen garden and allotment to grow their own fresh, organic produce.

Anderson said: “We are enthralled with the location and venue of the new Anderson’s and we cannot wait to get it up and running.”

Anderson’s at The Bull’s Head will be launching in early October.
