Electrical engineer AES recruits new designers to sustain growth

A WARWICKSHIRE electrical engineering firm has expanded its design team with a number of multinational appointments.
Following the opening of its dedicated Design Centre earlier this year, Stratford-upon-Avon based Assembled Electronics Solutions Ltd (AES) had to take on additional staff to meet demand for its new operation.
Educated to MSc level, the new design engineers – Afonso Marques, Sushant Mainali, Krishna Ambati, Brent Hodgson and Kay Roden – will be responsible for electronic circuit design, embedded software, FPGA, RF, power supplies, graphical user interfaces and graphics software.
They will also aid the firm in breaking further into international markets.
Already working with a number of US and European clients, AES is targeting more interest from forward thinking, corporate clients.
Accelerating growth is underlined by a 25% increase in turnover year-on-year and for the first quarter of this year the figure was up 47% compared with the same period in 2012.
Nigel Maris, managing director, said: “We’ve had an extraordinary start to the year which has enabled us to go ahead with expanding our design department and hiring new staff as well as contracting external design consultants who can provide mechanical, CAD, electronics and software expertise.
“Thanks to this accumulated knowledge and their wide range of skill sets, we will be able to seek new development projects across our spectrum of market sectors.”
Working with clients within aerospace, automotive, medical, defence and security, AES is currently working on telematics, military vehicle climate controls and done camera controls, industrial safety systems for mechanical handling and medical-surgical equipment.
The firm has also worked with the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry to develop innovative new aerospace simulations.
