Print firms merge to strengthen market presence

A MIDLANDS-based printing group has strengthened its presence in the sector with the acquisition of a company in Warwickshire in an undisclosed deal.

Prolog Print Media, based in Derbyshire, supplies secure data-driven business communications including epayslips, total reward statements, document printing and employee communications of various kinds.

Its acquisition of Rugby-based Datagraphic Ltd fulfils a strategy to secure a print and cross media technology partner.

Datagraphic, which was originally established in the USA but is now based in the Midlands, has been a supplier to Prolog Print Media for many years. The acquisition will enable teams at both firms to share expertise to develop the businesses’ long term service offerings.

The corporate team at Irwin Mitchell advised on the deal.

Matt Ainsworth, a partner in the law firm’s corporate team said: “We are delighted to have supported Prolog Print Media on this strategic acquisition, which marks an important landmark for both the Datagraphic and Prolog Print Media businesses and is a natural progression considering the close relationship the companies have enjoyed for many years.

“This strategic acquisition will put the business in a strong position to push forward and enjoy a prosperous future.”
