Avingtrans secures £55m contract with Rolls-Royce

AEROSPACE, energy and medtech supplier Avingtrans has secured a £55m 10-year contract with Rolls-Royce.
The contract, which will be completed by the Avingtrans subsidiary Sigma Precision Components UK Ltd – part of the group’s Aerospace division, will see the group become the sole supplier of self-locking nuts to Rolls-Royce and its supply chain.
This is the second long-term agreement (LTA) Hinckley-based Avingtrans has signed with Rolls-Royce within the last 12 months. In order to support the contract, Sigma will invest in additional manufacturing capability at its facilities in the UK and China.
Sigma Components, which forms Avingtrans’ Aerospace division, manufactures components for aero-engines, airframes and aircraft interiors from sites in Hinckley, Buckingham, Farnborough, Sandiacre and Derby. It also employs almost 150 people in Chengdu, China.
Mark Johnson, managing director of the Aerospace division at Avingtrans, said: “We are pleased to have secured a second LTA from Rolls Royce, an agreement that supports both parties. Self-Locking Nuts are used extensively across a number of Rolls-Royce engines and, over the past four years, we are proud to have become the most competitive supplier for this range of products.”
Steve McQuillan, CEO of Avingtrans, added: “This second landmark agreement for Sigma further underpins the board’s confidence in the Aerospace division.”
