Industrial expert swells ARM’s ranks
WASTEWATER system business ARM Group has appointed Stuart Widdowson as business development manager to work alongside the existing sales team.
He will also take responsibility for European, commercial and operational contracts and tenders at Rugeley-based ARM which desigsn, develops and constructs natural wastewater systems.
A qualified mine surveyor, Widdowson joins ARM from the Coal Authority where he spent the past 15 years as an operations and contracts manager.
Responsible for sourcing and delivering more than 60 mine wastewater treatment systems across England, Scotland and Wales, Widdowson’s vast knowledge in wetland technology, its capabilities and cost-efficiencies compared to other solutions will strengthen ARM’s expertise in treating industrial effluent.
He said: “ARM’s ability to continually innovate and deliver new reed-bed and wetland technologies sets it apart from its competitors.
“My aim is to grow the company’s influence and further consolidate its reputation in the treatment and management of industrial effluent.”
City recruitment professional joins Hudson to lead expansion
RECRUITMENT professional Jamie Rodden has joined Hudson’s Birmingham office as the firm looks to expand its finance and accountancy division across the region.
Rodden, who joins from Alexander Daniels, brings with him more than 11 years’ experience of recruitment within the finance and accountancy field. His role at Hudson will see him lead the investment programme for the Birmingham team.
He said: “The role accountants play within an organisation is becoming increasingly important and diverse, and as a result, we are seeing the job specifications become more specialised.
“When you add to this a shortage of newly qualified accountants coming through, the talent pool in which companies can source these experts from is greatly reduced and presents challenges to local finance teams.
“Having a team of experienced recruiters who are able to tap into that talent pool is valuable to businesses seeking out the right hire.”
