Sky’s the limit for BHSF after it wins new Airbus deal

AIRCRAFT manufacturer, Airbus, has turned to Midlands-based healthcare insurer and employee benefits provider BHSF to supply  a new health cash plan for its employees.

BHSF was chosen over various competitors to supply Airbus’ employees – which number around 10,000 in the UK – because of  its voluntary health cash plan.

Before the decision by Airbus to offer the insurance, there was no promotion of a cash plan, but there were legacy arrangements in place from a number of suppliers, including BHSF.

During negotiations, Airbus and its trade unions agreed to implement a voluntary health cash plan offering preferential corporate rates, to address an obvious desire from employees.

Working with the broker, IHC, BHSF produced a bespoke health cash plan proposal and the insurer said that with both companies understanding of the client’s needs, they were able to achieve a quick turnaround, and supply the first bespoke proposal.

Paul Roberts, of IHC, said: “The BHSF proposal was unique and offered added value to the client. They were particularly impressed with the speed of delivery and initiative to understand the client’s needs.”

BHSF said the manufacturer, which has announced record sales for 2013, had been impressed by the service it proposed, suggesting it made the group’s life easy and all it had to do was agree the recommendation and then leave BHSF to implement it.

Brian Hall, Sales and Marketing Director at BHSF, said: “We are delighted to have won another prestigious organisation’s business. Airbus joins other large, private sector BHSF clients.  In particular, it adds to BHSF’s growing footprint in the aerospace sector and shows that the company packs a punch when dealing with large corporations as well as smaller SMEs.”
