Coventry & Warwickshire businesses consulted on LEP’s Strategic Economic Plan

BUSINESSES in Coventry and Warwickshire have been invited to participate in the process to formulate the new blueprint for the area’s economic growth.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership is currently developing its Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) will be the DNA on which the area’s economic regeneration will be based.
Four business consultation events are being organised so businesses can come forward and make their views known on what the priorities should be.
Two of the events – in Coventry and Stratford – have already been booked out but places are still available at Bedworth Civic Hall in High Street, Bedworth, on Wednesday, February 12 and the Trident Centre at Warwickshire College in Poseidon Way, Warwick, on Wednesday, February 26, from 7.30-9.30am.
Sir Peter Rigby, chair of the CWLEP said businesses would play a crucial part in delivering the projects and priorities identified in the SEP.
“We need the input of businesses from throughout Coventry and Warwickshire to make sure the SEP provides the key priorities for growth which they have identified,” he said.
“The consultation events are an important part of hearing the views of companies however large or small and from all sectors so that we can include their thoughts in the final proposal.
“It is important to remember that the SEP is more than just a list of priorities – it will influence the allocation levels of future public funding for the area.”
He said this meant it was vital businesses gave their views so that funding could be allocated to where it was most needed.
“When the document is submitted, we want the CWLEP, businesses and partners to have worked together in developing the plan,” he added.
“The fact that the business consultation events in Stratford and Coventry are already full underlines the importance of the SEP and that businesses are committed to having their say.
“We would encourage companies to come along to the events in Bedworth and Warwick so that as many people as possible have put their opinions forward.”
