Johnson Fellows snaps up rival surveyor Salway Bradbury

JOHNSON Fellows has strengthened its presence in the West Midlands commercial property market with the acquisition of rival consultancy Salway Bradbury.

The financial details of the deal are undisclosed.

Johnson Fellows is based in Birmingham but this move gives it access to the buoyant Solihull property market. Salway Bradbury is located there and it is where much of its work is carried out.

Its acquisition also provides Johnson Fellows with specialist knowledge in sectors in which it doesn’t currently operate.

The deal was described by Nick Wint, partner at Johnson Fellows, as a “fantastic coup” for the company – adding important skills, experience and contacts to its operations.

Salway Bradbury director Ken Salway will become a consultant at Johnson Fellows while fellow director Ed Parkes joins as a partner.

Salway Bradbury was established in 1986 and provides advice and services in retail, office and industrial agency as well as development consultancy and acquisitions.

Its office agency department acts for major funds such as M&G and Credit Suisse in Solihull and the South Birmingham region.

On the retail side, it has recently been retained by food retailer Farmfoods, while on the industrial side it is currently advising on, amongst others, the three-acre Highlands Park site in Solihull for Graftongate.

Salway Bradbury also acts for ThyssenKrupp Materials UK, West Midlands Special Needs Transport, Bunn UK and Centor Europe, which recedntly relocated to Solar Park, Solihull.

Wint said: “We have admired Salway Bradbury for some time, given their specialist expertise in areas that we don’t currently have, and I am absolutely delighted that they have decided to join us and help build our growing business.

“We believe this is the perfect fit for us because they will complement our business so well and together we will move our business forward to another level. There is no doubt this will create far more opportunities for our clients.”
