Jaguar Land Rover enjoys record-breaking April sales as demand steps up

VEHICLE manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover has announced record sales for April with demand up across all its markets.

The Indian-owned company sold 37,171 vehicles globally last month in the month, up 30% on the same month last year. During the first four months of the year, JLR has sold 161,947vehicles, up 12% on 2013.

In the China Region, sales were up 72%, Europe up 27%, Asia Pacific up 25%, the UK up 24%, North America up 19% and other overseas markets up 3%. Andy Goss, JLR’s Group Sales Operations Director said:  “April sales continue the positive momentum we saw in the first quarter of 2014. Alongside the F-Type, all three Range Rover models delivered record April sales performances reflecting the global appeal of our strongest ever vehicle line up.”

Jaguar sold 5,511 vehicles last month, up 17% on 2013 with a strong performance from the F-Type.  Across the various regions, China was up 71%, Europe up 15%, the UK up 12%, Asia Pacific up 2% and other overseas markets were in line with 2013.
