JLR proves it’s no wayward son with new £3m Kansas dealership

VEHICLE manufacturer Jaguar Land Rover is set to boost its sales in the mid-western United States with the development of a new $5m (£2.94m) dealership.

The Wichita Luxury Collection is planning to have the new dealership – in Wichita, Kansas – up and running in the next year.

The 20,000sq ft building will see Jaguar occupy one side of the building with its 4×4 stablemate taking the opposite half.  Both dealerships will have their own roadside marquees and parts and service areas.

The dealership is part of the WLC’s expansion. The group also operates franchises for Mercedes-Benz and Lexus.

The move is a significant one for the Midlands-based group as JLR has never had a Land Rover dealership in the area.

It is a further example of the company’s desire to extend its presence both in established and emerging markets. The United States remains its most significant export market and so expansion will be crucial as the company looks to ramp up production and introduce new model ranges.
