Eventmasters renews sponsorship of Wolverhampton Racecourse

CORPORATE hospitality specialist Eventmasters is to renew its sponsorship of Wolverhampton Racecourse following a gap of several years.

The firm, headed by managing director Denise Sheasby, a horse racing enthusiast and part owner of the 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander, said she had been impressed by the way course owners Arena Racing Company had transformed the all-weather venue.

To celebrate the move, Birmingham-based Eventmasters is taking the whole of the racing card at the racecourse on Thursday October 16.

Clients will sponsor individual races and around 80 Eventmasters guests will be in attendance.

“The sponsorship agreement represents a significant financial package of support by our company,” said Mrs Sheasby.

“The Eventmasters sponsorship and hospitality evening will be an opportunity for companies to heighten their profile by entertaining important clients.

“Wolverhampton now offers fantastic facilities following the heavy investment in hotel and leisure infrastructure in recent years. We are very pleased to be back. We continue to build our presence in horse racing all the time and we are looking to further expand.”

Mrs Sheasby also praised the course’s new Tapeta racing surface.

Renowned as a safe and durable surface for horses to both train and race on, many leading trainers around the world have Tapeta gallops including Godolphin’s training centres in Dubai and Newmarket. The first meeting on the new Tapeta racing surface is scheduled for today.

The racecourse has a packed fixtures and events list right through to the end of the year. Later this month Eventmasters will be taking 200 guests to Ladies Day at the York Racecourse’s Ebor Festival.

Eventmasters also has its own horses in training, St Paul’s Square and Passionate Affair.

“Hospitality and horse racing go together,” said Mrs Sheasby. “Horse racing, along with many other sports which clients can enjoy, is our livelihood. But we like to give something back.”

David Roberts, managing director of Wolverhampton Racecourse, said: “Following the huge investment in our racing surface and facilities over the summer Wolverhampton Racecourse is delighted to be once again working with Eventmasters.

“We are very much looking forward to their race evening in October and have no doubt more exciting events will follow. Eventmasters are renowned for providing fantastic hospitality and entertainment packages and we are very proud to be part of their portfolio of events.”
