Phish and Chips on the menu at National Cyber Skills Centre event

THE issue of cyber security and classic cars are set to combine when two of Malvern’s best known names come together.

The mash-up will occur when the National Cyber Skills Centre, in association with the Federation of Small Businesses, hosts its inaugural cyber event and the home of the legendary Morgan Motor Company next month.

The event, dubbed Phish and Chips, takes place at the motor company’s visitor centre on Wednesday September 17.

The half-day event will feature a programme of debates, panel discussions and workshops.

Debbie Tunstall, manager of the NCSC, said: “We are delighted to have secured the participation of some sector specialists, including Deep Secure, QinetiQ, CISCO, BAE Systems, Hewlett Packard, IASME, e-skills UK and the High Tec Crime Police Training Unit, to name a few.

“They will join the panel and run workshops aimed at helping businesses identify the cyber issues that affect them and, using case studies, demonstrate how best to protect themselves against threats to their digital data.”

The NCSC is based at the Malvern Hills Science Park, at the heart of Malvern’s Cyber Valley. It was set up to ensure that businesses and organisations needing assistance with conducting and administering their business online get the help and support they need.
