Coup for Eventmasters as AP McCoy agrees to be its horse racing ambassador

BIRMINGHAM-based sports hospitality agency Eventmasters has signed up famous jump jockey AP McCoy as its horse racing hospitality ambassador.
McCoy will represent and promote the company at special events such as The Cheltenham National Hunt Festival, where he will interact and engage with clients.
“It is a huge coup for us,” said Eventmasters’ managing director Denise Sheasby, a horse racing enthusiast and part owner of the popular 2010 Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Imperial Commander.
“AP McCoy has broken just about every record there is and won just about every big race there is to win. We are absolutely thrilled that he has agreed to join our team.
“We support many race meetings up and down the country with an obvious emphasis on the Festival. We provide corporate hospitality for hundreds of guests, look to provide high quality service, and I am sure that with AP’s endorsement the business will further prosper. Those taking advantage of our hospitality packages will be able to chat racing with an undoubted master of the turf.”
Eventmasters is one of the UK’s leading and longest serving corporate hospitality companies and next year celebrates its 30th anniversary.
McCoy said: “I’m delighted to be associated with Eventmasters this season and look forward to meeting with their guests at the Cheltenham Festival in March. It’s a fantastic four days, the atmosphere is immense and I look forward to it every year. Who knows, I may come up with a few good tips.”
Hailing from Northern Ireland, Anthony Peter McCoy OBE, commonly known as AP McCoy or Tony McCoy, recorded his first winner in 1992 at the age of 17. Last November he notched his 4,000th winner, riding Mountain Tunes to victory at Towcester.
McCoy has been Champion Jockey every year he has been professional. He claimed his first in 1995/6 and, as of 2013/2014, had won 19 consecutive titles, smashing the previous record of seven consecutive set by Peter Scudamore. His most high profile winners include the prestigious Cheltenham Gold Cup, Champion Hurdle, Queen Mother Champion Chase, King George VI Chase and the 2010 Grand National, on Don’t Push It.
He has surpassed 150 winners for the season 18 times out of 20 riding in Britain, and is most commonly associated with the famous green and gold hooped silks of owner J. P. McManus.
Named BBC Sports Personality of the Year in 2010, he was the first jockey to win the award.
