New head of assurance for PwC

PwC has announced the appointment of Andrew Hammond as head of assurance in the Midlands.

Hammond is from Warwickshire and has been with PwC since 1995, before becoming a partner in 2009. Specialising in auditing and corporate reporting, he is a listed company expert and has worked with a wide variety of organisations from across the commercial and public sectors.

In his new role he will be responsible for leading the 600-strong team of assurance, risk, corporate reporting and capital markets experts in the firm’s Midlands assurance practice. In particular he will be focusing on supporting companies deliver their strategic growth ambitions whilst ensuring compliance with complex reporting requirements and a drive for better corporate governance.

“Having worked alongside the team for the last 19 years, I know what a fantastic and skilled group of people we have here in the region. I look forward to working with them to continue to grow the practice and help our clients across all sectors and industries with their growth agenda,” he said.

Brace of new promotions at Springboard

Bailey joined Springboard in 2011 and has worked on a range of transactions including the successful sales of Crystal Motor Group and Indecs.

Johnson has been with the firm since April 2007 and has extensive deal experience including the recent MBO of Alliance in Partnership and sale of Carrs Tool Steels. The promotions come on the back of an exceptionally strong period of transactional activity for Springboard in the last 12 months.

Barclays bolsters business banking team in H&W

Carl Perry and Alec McintoshBARCLAYS has announced the appointment of Alex Mcintosh and Carl Perry as Relationship Directors for Hereford & Worcester.

The duo join the Barclays mid-Corporate team in Hereford & Worcester and will have responsibility for a portfolio of clients with a turnover in excess of £5m.
Both have worked for the bank’s business banking and corporate banking sector for the last six years.

Wayne Taylor, who heads up the Barclays Corporate banking team across Hereford & Worcester, said: “I am delighted that Alex and Carl are taking on the Relationship Director role within my team. Their enthusiasm and expertise within the corporate banking sector will be a real benefit to the broader team.”
