Enterprise opens new car hire business in Birmingham

CAR rental business Enterprise has opened a new outlet in Birmingham creating five jobs.
The new branch in Spring Hill, which will primarily serve the Edgbaston and Ladywood areas, has regenerated the site of a derelict car wash.
The building and forecourt of the car wash had been unused for over five years and fell into a poor state, becoming an eyesore. Enterprise has taken control of the location and transformed it into a new rental office and parking area.
The new outlet, which will also have a range of commercial vehicles for hire, follows the opening of a branch in Bromsgrove in August. Its expansion into the West Midlands as a whole has seen the business create 120 jobs in the last 12 months.
Five people will be located at the Spring Hill branch, including one graduate who has been taken on to the company’s nationwide Management Trainee Programme.
Curt Craig, Enterprise’s general manager for the West Midlands said: “With our branch in central Birmingham operating at full capacity, we needed to open a new location relatively close to the city centre to respond to the huge demand for our services. Spring Hill proved to be the best option.
“We’re glad to have helped remove an eyesore in the area – the site we’ve opened the new branch on was in dire need of a revamp.”
The site adds to Enterprise’s growing network of more than 370 locations throughout the UK. Enterprise is the largest vehicle rental company in the UK, with over 90% of the population living within 10 miles of one of its branches.
