Electronics group Solid State on course to beat last year’s interims

WORCESTERSHIRE electronics components group, Solid State, has said its interim results are on course to beat those for the same period last year.

The Redditch-based company, which supplies specialist industrial/ruggedised computers, electronic components, secure communications systems and battery packs to the electronics market, said full year results were also on target to meet expectations.

In a trading update ahead of its interim results for the six months to September 30, 2014, it said: “Solid State has made a good start to the year. Results for the six months will, as expected, be significantly ahead of the equivalent period in 2013 and are consistent with market expectations for the year as a whole.”

The company, which supplies niche markets in oil & gas production, medical, construction, security, military and field maintenance, said it would announce its interim results on November 24, 2014.

Solid State, which also acts as both a distributor to OEMs and bespoke manufacturer of specialist units to clients with complex requirements, employs more than 140 people across its four sites.  It operates through two main divisions: Solid State Supplies and Steatite.

The company was established in 1971 and admitted to the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in June 1996.
