Malmaison checks in to 54 Hagley Road

MALMAISON & Hotel du Vin Hotels is consolidating its office operations at 54 Hagley Road in Birmingham’s Edgbaston district.

The boutique hotel chain has taken 3,541 sq ft on the 14th floor of the building.

Malmaison & Hotel du Vin previously occupied offices in both Manchester and Birmingham, but wanted to bring staff together into one location that also offered space for future expansion.

Rob Paterson, director of revenue and distribution for the group, said. “Our business is expanding rapidly in today’s favourable economic climate – we have opened two hotels in 2014, with more on the immediate horizon.

“As we were fast outgrowing our existing space, we took the decision to operate our reservations, meetings and events, revenue management and distribution teams from one location. Birmingham was a clear choice as it has a great talent pool and 54 Hagley Road offered a commercially efficient, high specification, flexible office space.”

Jonathan Carmalt, director of office agency at JLL in Birmingham, one of the joint agents for the building, said: “Widely regarded as the best office space currently available in Edgbaston, space at 54 is attracting a great deal of attention since the recent £17m refurbishment.”
