Trio of partner appointments at Harrison Clark Rickerbys

WORCESTERSHIRE law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys has announced three new partner promotions in its Worcester head office.

The appointments bring the firm’s total number of partners to 59, spread across its six offices in Birmingham, Cheltenham, Hereford, Ross-on-Wye, Thames Valley and Worcester.

Claire Thompson, who works within the firm’s Employment team, has been promoted from Senior Associate to Partner after seven years with the firm. She advises employers of all sizes on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment issues and has particular expertise in advising on large-scale business reorganisations and redundancies.

There have also been double celebrations for the Commercial department, where Rob Cobley and David Bayliss are both promoted. Cobley specialises in intellectual property and technology within the Commercial department, while Bayliss advises clients ranging from new starts to international organisations.

Lodders strengthens agriculture and estates team

Caroline Nemecek, associate, Lodders Solicitors LODDERS has strengthened its top ranking specialist agricultural and estates team with the appointment of Caroline Nemecek as Associate.
 
Based at the firm’s Stratford upon Avon office, Ms Nemecek, left, will work alongside partner and team head David Lodder providing specialist agricultural, rural and real estate legal advice to the firm’s rapidly growing portfolio of agricultural businesses and individuals working and living in the rural sector.

David Lodder said: “The team continues to be very busy and the addition of Caroline as Associate in Stratford brings much valued expertise to support our agricultural clients. We hope that Caroline’s appointment will be the first of a number of new hires into the agricultural team over the coming months.”

Lodders is an established law firm based in Stratford upon Avon, Henley in Arden and Cheltenham.

New associate for employment specialist Averta

Marianne Browne, Associate Solicitor, Averta Employment LawyersMIDLANDS employment law firm, Averta Employment Lawyers has appointed Marianne Browne as Associate Solicitor.

Before joining Averta, which specialises in giving senior executives employment advice, Browne had some time out from the law, running a successful sales agency business which operated in the composites and engineering industry. Prior to that, she had qualified as a solicitor and worked in the Employment and Benefits department of Dentons where she also advised on business immigration matters.

Alan Jones, director at Averta, said: “Marianne has extensive experience in employment law which will be perfect for our private clients and it’s exciting that we can offer advice to individuals on business immigration now. Her commercial experience also means she has a real understanding of the issues that affect our clients and practical experience in negotiating with businesses and other lawyers.”

At Dentons, Browne gained experience of advising corporate and individual clients. She has also negotiated complex settlement agreements for senior executives and dealt with a broad range of employment tribunal claims.

Her experience in business immigration includes applications to join the Register of Sponsors and advice on complying with the obligations of a sponsor licence, Grant of Leave to Remain or Leave to Enter applications and various settlement applications.
