Lloyds British Testing expands presence with new acquisition

SUTTON Coldfield-based international lifting equipment specialist Lloyds British Testing has expanded its operations with a new acquisition.

The Four Oaks business has acquired Swindon Lifting Gear, based on the Station Industrial Estate in Swindon, as part of its ongoing plans to continue its strategic expansion within the UK and overseas.

Swindon Lifting Gear, which specialises in the supply, inspection, testing and hire of lifting equipment, was founded 25 years ago and counts Honda and The National Trust among its customers.

The acquisition will see LBT establish a new team covering the south of England. This will be headed up by Paul Storrar and will include specialist project management and local engineers.

Ryan White, LBT’s regional director for the South of the UK, said he believed the acquisition reinforced Lloyds British’s dominance in the UK equipment lifting equipment sector.

The deal is expected to lead to further business growth through improved regional coverage.

White said:  “The new location is of prime importance and will allow us to give our customers greater support, while enabling our expansion across the M4 Corridor, particularly into Bristol, Oxford, Swindon and Reading.

“Overall, the acquisition is part of a continued drive for expansion in the UK, and we are all excited to join forces with such a successful business with 25 years of strong customer relationships.”
