Medtech firm Kimal targets the French Market

DROITWICH and Bromsgrove-based medtech company Kimal is entering the French market via a strategic alliance.

It has joined forces with Lyon-based Laboratoire Hydrex.

Kimal is a developer, manufacturer and supplier of customised procedure packs and vascular access devices for use across a range of clinical departments. It already has an operation in Germany.

Laboratoire Hydrex has been involved in the manufacture of medical products since its formation in 1931. Since then, the company has been engaged in the manufacture of swabs and accessories at its manufacturing facility outside Lyon.

In 2002, drapes and gowns were added to their product portfolio and, more recently, procedure packs.

The joint venture has seen a new company, Kimal SARL, created. This strategic partnership will allow Kimal and Laboratoire Hydrex to combine their resources and supply chain capabilities to offer a broader range of products to the French healthcare market.

The partnership will focus on Hydrex’s existing procedural solutions products and Kimal’s customised procedure packs for cardiology and radiology.
