Hat-trick of promotions for Eversheds

THE Birmingham office of Eversheds has announced a trio of new appointments to support the ongoing development of the firm.

Louise Finnie (Corporate), Dawn Hilton (Real Estate) and Rich Lloyd (Commercial Dispute Resolution) have all been elevated to partner level.

The promotions are part of a series of 22 made by the firm as part of its 2015 promotion programme.

Small in big appointment for LBS

Lucy Small, partner, Lanyon Bowdler A lawyer at Lanyon Bowdler Solicitors has won a privileged place on a panel of national experts who deal with cases involving medical accidents.

Lucy Small, left, is now among the UK’s most respected clinical negligence lawyers as part of the Action Against Medical Accidents charity’s legal panel.

The charity, known as AvMA, is the UK’s leading organisation helping people who need to file complaints against hospitals and health trusts following medical accidents or errors.

Ms Small, a partner at the firm and head of its Ludlow and Hereford clinical negligence teams, said: “AvMA is a fantastic charity which supports people through incredibly difficult times in their lives.

“Being on the AvMA panel means that I am a recommended solicitor specialising in clinical negligence cases, and it is gratifying to be recognised by such a respected charity.”

Kay Kelly, head of Lanyon Bowdler’s clinical negligence team, added: “It is a real accolade to be named on the AvMA Specialist Clinical Negligence Panel, and it is testament to Lucy’s dedication and expertise that she has been accepted.

Lodders recruits environmental law specialist

Victoria Longmore with Paul Mourton, a partner in Lodders’ Real Estate teamLODDERS has recruited planning and environmental law specialist Victoria Longmore as an associate in its Real Estate team.
 
With extensive experience acting for national housebuilders, investment funds and landed estate clients, Ms Longmore is recognised for her dedicated planning and environmental law expertise and advice.
 
She joins after 18-months at Stratford upon Avon firm Zyda Law, where she acted on a range of national projects, including a development consent order for an underground gas storage project for INEOS.
 
She was previously with Wragge Lawrence Graham’s Birmingham office for five years, where she completed her training and qualified, acting for a broad range of UK housebuilders.
 
Michael Orlik, head of the firm’s highways and rights of way law practice and one of the UK’s leading authorities on the law of Highways and Rights of Way, said: “Recruiting such a highly experienced planning solicitor is a significant step for the firm and Victoria further improves our Highways Law practice that frequently deals with planning enquiries from commercial property and developer clients.”
