Rees Bradley Hepburn covers itself in glory

MERIDEN-based creative communications agency, Rees Bradley Hepburn, has been appointed as the lead creative agency for British male fashion brand, Duck and Cover.

RBH beat off competition from three other agencies to secure the new fashion business.  The initial focus for RBH will be to produce a brand book for Duck and Cover and to manage the photoshoots for its AW15 and SS16 collections.

As well as being the creative lead, RBH takes on responsibility for Duck and Cover’s website, online and printed advertising, photoshoots and POS, as well as ad hoc events and requirements. Social Media and all PR services will remain with Fabric PR and RBH will work closely with them on brand positioning and messaging.

Nigel Addison, Managing Director for Duck and Cover, said: “The quality of the creative work RBH produced for the pitch was outstanding, they clearly understand our proposition and presented some fantastic concepts to take the brand to the next level.”

Angel Gibbons, Commercial Director for RBH said creative directors Mike Kalin and Sweta Pathak had produced the winning concept.

Something to ‘owl about for WAA Chosen

The James Brindley School owlPUPILS from James Brindley School, part of Birmingham Children’s Hospital, unleashed their artistic talents after getting help from Midlands marketing agency, WAA Chosen.

The school has collaborated with the agency to develop a design and paint an owlet as part of The Big Hoot, a major charity initiative, which will bring 100 decorated owl statues to Birmingham for the biggest ever mass-participation public art event the city has ever seen.

The owls will be joined by a parliament of owlet sculptures, including the one painted by children at James Brindley School. The sculpture was donated to the school by the WAA Foundation, the Sutton Coldfield-based agency’s charitable arm.

Two of WAA Chosen’s creative designers, Sophie Drinkwater and Lesley Kavanagh, spent a day at the school working with the children to develop their design idea, before helping them bring their idea to life on the 3ft tall owlet.

Andy Wilson, CEO of WAA Chosen, said: “When we approached the school about becoming involved with this project, we always hoped it would inspire the children to develop their artistic skills. Sophie and Lesley are very talented designers, and under their guidance, the children have done an amazing job and shown real creative flair.

“This owlet will take pride of place in Sutton Coldfield as part of the town’s Big Hoot trail. The children should be very proud of what they have done.”

The Big Hoot will run for 10 weeks from Monday July 20.
