Raft of new retailers announced for Resorts World outlet mall

A RAFT of new retailers has been signed up to be part of the new shopping outlet at the £150m Resorts World Birmingham hotel and leisure complex at the NEC campus.
The outlet mall, due to open later this year alongside the hotel and casino development, will comprise 51 units and be the West Midlands’ first large scale outlet shopping experience.
Already signed up for the scheme are anchor stores Next Outlet, Nike Factory Store and GAP Outlet. They will now be joined by a range of stores offering a wide selection of discounted products in fashion, homewares and gifts.
Retailers confirmed to be part of the scheme are top fashion brands; Bench, Jeff Banks, Skopes, Phase Eight, The North Face, and New Balance. Shoe retailer Skechers and American fashion brand Vans will also be joining the mix.
Visitors seeking bargains in homewares and gifts will be able to shop at Bedeck, IT Luggage, Antler, Hallmark, The Gift Co, ProCook and Yves Delorme.
Confectioners Lindt and Thorntons will also have a presence, as will jewellery retailers Clogau Gold and Ernest Jones.
In total, 88% of the retail space within the Resorts World complex is now let and interest for the remaining space is said to be high.
The addition of the stores is a welcome shot in the arm to the region’s retail offering following the announcement of store closures by Marks & Spencer and Morrisons.
However, the new centre needs to have an outstanding offer because of the competition it is likely to encounter from the new Grand Central complex at New Street Station and a refurbished Mailbox.
Commenting on the latest tenant announcements at Resorts Word, Steve Myers, Managing Director – Development of Genting UK said: “We have enjoyed a high level of interest from a wide range of retailers who want to be a part of Resorts World Birmingham. This has enabled us to create an eclectic mix of retailers to populate our outlet shopping offer. I am delighted that we are announcing 19 retailers today who will be joining us.
“Resorts World Birmingham be will be a new retail offer to the West Midlands region with the first large scale outlet mall to open here and Resorts World Birmingham and our retail partners are looking forward to bringing a new and exciting world of shopping to visitors.
“Our food and beverage offer is also moving at a pace with 95% of all the space now let or in the final stages of signing legal agreements. In the coming weeks we will be announcing the exciting offers we will bringing to the NEC complex within Resorts World Birmingham including a range of new and exciting concepts we have created ourselves which will be located for the first time in the UK.”
In addition to the outlet mall, the Resorts World Birmingham complex will include a wide range of restaurants and bars, an 11-screen IMAX cinema, casino, conference and banqueting and a hotel and medi-spa.
