Alexander Daniels recruits for itself

BIRMINGHAM recruitment group Alexander Daniels has bolstered its accountancy and finance division with the appointment of experienced clerical and transactional specialist Kate Campbell.

She joins after spending several years working in recruitment in Dubai.

Nick Pearce, director at Alexander Daniels, said: “I’m confident that her background and professionalism will greatly enhance the output of our current team of accountancy and finance specialists.

“As with our other divisions, our accountancy and finance team is staffed exclusively by people with a track record in the sector who possess an intimate knowledge of both the current trends within it and the challenges it faces.”

Kerry Sheerman, accountancy and finance manager, added: “Over the course of six years in consultancy roles both here and in the United Arab Emirates, Kate has continually honed her interpersonal skills in conjunction with an aptitude for thorough candidate care.

“She has also accumulated a wealth of experience in business and sales support, in both a legal and financial capacity.”

Metsec beefs up cable management division

BLACK Country cold roll forming specialist Metsec has appointed a new general manager for its cable management division to help support and drive its continuing growth in the industry.

Richard Allen has taken on the role in addition to his current position as marketing and business development director.

He said: “Our cable management division is currently performing impressively, and I’m delighted to be joining this team, where we will continue the growth of our cable management products, which include metal framing and containment products for the mechanical and electrical services industry.”

Prior to joining Metsec, Allen held positions at Tata Steel, the global steel company, Hoerbiger-Origa, a pneumatics and automation specialist, and Amada, the international manufacturer of sheet metal working machines, tools and software.

Burton software firm invests in the future

A SPECIALIST software solutions provider has taken on a trio of young business peopl’ to help develop its range of products.
 
Burton-based Visdata has recruited apprentice Tom Elton and graduates Vimbai Mandere and Manesha Dey; a move which it believes is an investment it needs to make for the long-term sustainability of the business.
 
Elton, who joins the manufacturing support team, was recruited through the 3As apprenticeship scheme and is working towards his Level 4 apprenticeship. Mandere and Dey both join the company’s Visma support team and were recruited via Coventry University’s graduate scheme.
 
Matt Benfield, managing director at Visdata, said: “Because we design completely bespoke products and solutions for our clients, we need specialist engineers who really know the software we use inside out. But we also need people who are creative and who can bring fresh ideas and new ways of working, and we think that by taking on those who are eager to learn and develop, we will get this.
 
“In our business, we need to be innovative and we need people on board who really understand what we do and what makes us different.”
 
  

McAuliffe furthers expansion plans with two new hires

ENVIRONMENTAL contracting specialist McAuliffe Group has added to its expanding team with two new senior appointments.
 
James Cartwright, an environmental services specialist, has been appointed regional director south, whilst remediation specialist Nicola Harper has stepped into the role of remediation manager. 
 
The appointments coincide with the opening of Wolverhampton-based McAuliffe’s first office in London.
 
Having amassed more than 25 years of experience in contaminated land remediation, Cartwright will lead and develop McAuliffe’s fast growing operations in the south of England. This includes supporting McAuliffe’s specialist subsidiary, GeoStream UK, a supplier of in-situ remediation technologies.
