Coventry tech firm looks to new markets after US partnering deal

A COVENTRY technology company has established a partnership with a US company to work on new products for the energy sector.
SPS International (UK), which is headquartered at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre, has signed a long term agreement with data intelligence and software company, OSISoft.
The partnership will enable the two companies to offer an enhanced range of products aimed at helping power plant owners and operators to extract the maximum amount of value from their data.
The products will benefit operators in a number of ways including improving data accuracy, reducing manual labour and facilitating timely access to reliability and performance metrics.
Jon Willis, managing director of SPS’s UK operations, said: “Our partnership with OSISoft will offer power plant operators measurable return on investment through improved data quality metrics and help to drive down operation and maintenance costs.
“OSISoft has a global customer footprint and our partnership with them will really take SPS to a new level, particularly in terms of a consolidated offer to the market.”
SPS will service a customer base outside of the Americas, while the OSISoft partnership will enable it to expand and secure new opportunities in the Middle East and Far East.
Karen Aston, centre manager at the University of Warwick Science Park’s Warwick Innovation Centre, said: “SPS International (UK) chose the science park as a base to expand its operations outside of the Americas, and in the two years since it has made huge steps to advance the energy market through data-driven solutions.
“With great transport links and a close relationship to the university, the science park is an ideal location for firms working towards growth, and we are delighted to have supported SPS with its development and look forward to continuing to do so in future.”
