Safari park plans major improvements to lure visitors

FACILITIES at the West Midlands Safari Park in north Worcestershire could be in line for a major boost under new plans submitted to Wyre Forest Council.
The Bewdley-based attraction wants to develop a new water park together with a 250-bed hotel, conference centre and spa.
Planners are set to consider the scheme later today and while the facilities would improve the appeal of the safari park and place it on a par with other major West Midlands attractions, there are concerns about whether the local road infrastructure can cope with the expected increase in visitors.
The improvements would lead the way for the creation of hundreds of new jobs.
