Flybe boosts services from Birmingham with new route

REGIONAL airline Flybe is to further expand its services from Birmingham Airport.
The airline is to begin flights between Birmingham and Luxembourg, opening up a destination only currently served in the UK via London.
The new year-round service will see daily flights starting beginning on September 5.
The airline, which is keen to promote tourism across the continent, said it had nevertheless targeted businesses with the new service, especially those looking to conduct business in a new European destination.
“Daily flights ensure maximum flexibility when it comes to planning a journey to one of Europe’s most important business hubs which, when combined with Luxembourg’s excellent transport infrastructure and convenient geographical location, means the new route is potentially vital for those who conduct business in Europe,” said the airline.
Luxembourg City is also well situated for onward travel to France, Germany and Belgium with all three countries under half an hour away by road.
Vincent Hodder, Chief Revenue Officer, Flybe said: “We are delighted to be adding Luxembourg to our 2016 Summer schedule from Birmingham. Until now, direct flights to Luxembourg were only possible via London. We are opening up yet another key business and tourist destination to travellers outside of the M25 corridor and look forward to welcoming all our new customers on board in September.”
The Monday to Saturday service will depart from Birmingham at 10.45, arriving in Luxembourg at 13.20 local time. The return flights will leave at 13.45 local time landing in Birmingham at 14.35. For Sunday, the timings will be departure at 12.15, arriving 15.00 local time, with departure at 15.30 local time, landing at Birmingham at 16.20.
