MIPIM will see largest development opportunities in "more than 50 years"

DELEGATES from Coventry and Warwickshire have pledged to showcase the area’s biggest investment opportunities at next week’s MIPIM property exhibition.

The presentation will showcase the largest amount of development in the area for more than 50 years.

The Coventry and Warwickshire MIPIM Partnership, which comprises representatives from the public and private sector, will host a series of events during the show, which is the largest commercial property exhibition in the world.

The presentations will focus on opportunities presented by the area’s strong automotive industry and the innovative work coming out of its universities.

The area has exhibited at MIPIM for more than 20 years but Martin Yardley, chief executive of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, said he believed this year’s offer was the strongest ever.

“Coventry and Warwickshire has a very strong record of inward investment and the amount of large-scale development currently underway is proof of that,” he said.

“The encouraging factor is that the development runs across our area and takes in so many sectors.

“In Coventry alone there is more than £1bn of development underway taking in commercial, industrial, residential and leisure development. If you add to that the work currently under way or planned for Warwickshire, then this is a very strong message we can deliver.”

The full partnership comprises: Friargate, Jaguar Land Rover, the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership, Barberry, Study Inn, CEG, the Coventry and Warwickshire Development Partnership, HORIBA MIRA, Coventry University, University of Warwick, CityFibre, Wasps, Deeley, Downing and Complex Development Projects.
