Law firm to move its 375 staff to Edgbaston

Tricorn House

LAW firm DAC Beachcroft is moving its 375 staff half-a-mile down Birmingham’s Broad Street to Edgbaston.

It has agreed a 10-year lease on 40,000 sq ft at Tricorn House, on Hagley Road and will move in this summer.

In 2014 it re-committed to its current home at Nine Brindleyplace, after an agreed move to Two Colmore Square fell through. Although it announced a five-year lease just two years ago, the firm has now chosen to exercise a break clause and relocate.

Paul Leighton, regional senior partner of DAC Beachcroft’s Birmingham office, said: “We are pleased that we can bring all our staff together in the one location. The space at Tricorn House suits our current requirements and is flexible enough to accommodate future growth.”

CBRE’s associate director Theo Holmes, who advised landlords CEG on the letting, said the property offered “lower total occupancy costs compared to the city core”.

The building, which is on the Edgbaston side of the Five Ways roundabout, is currently occupied by Housing 21, Perkins Slade and FIS.

Savills acted on behalf of DAC Beachcroft. GBR Phoenix Beard are joint agents with CBRE on Tricorn House.
