40 jobs to be created after sweet property deal

A DESSERT chain will create 40 jobs when it opens its third shop after buying the former Pizza Hut building in West Bromwich town centre.

The Little Dessert Shop already has branches in Wolverhampton and Wednesbury after first opening in 2014.

The 3,324 sq ft shop at the Farley Centre is scheduled to open in May.

Owner Mu’azzam Ali said: “We wanted to take the unassuming dessert and turn it into a creative masterpiece for all to enjoy, borne out of a love for fine foods.”

The independent business offers a choice of cakes, crepes, waffles, fondue, sundaes and more than 40 flavours of ice cream, gelatos and sorbets.

James Mattin, managing director of Bond Wolfe, which advised on the deal, described the demand for retail units in West Bromwich as “boisterous”.

He added: “Indeed the remainder of this parade is under offer and inventory along the High Street is very low due to the increase in demand for the town centre.”
