Halfords loses chief information officer to supermarket group

ANNA BARSBY, chief information officer at Halfords, is leaving to join Yorkshire supermarket group Morrisons.

Ms Barsby will be joining Morrisons as chief technology director in the autumn after more than three years with Halfords. She is replacing Dan Beecham, who is returning to his native Australia.

Morrisons said Ms Barsby has led “an important IT improvement plan” at Halfords.

“She has a strong background in IT change management across a number of organisations having worked at Halfords, Aviva, Whitbread and the Financial Services Authority,” the retailer said.

Trevor Strain, chief financial officer, said: “Dan has moved Morrisons’ technology forward, and the improvements that he and his team have introduced help us to serve our customers better.  His important contribution leaves Morrisons well placed for the future.

“We are delighted that Anna Barsby will be joining us to continue moving our technology function forward. She brings a wealth of valuable experience which will be important for the ongoing improvement of Morrisons’ technology.”
