Estate agents bought by national chain

ESTATE agency Paul Dubberley is to become part of national group Connells after it was bought for an undisclosed sum.

The Black Country agency was founded in Wednesbury in 1992 and grew to have seven sites across the West Midlands. Property investor Bond Wolfe bought the group in October 2007, but the agency has remained the same size since the credit crunch took hold.

The agency will continue to trade under the Paul Dubberley brand with all 31 employees moving across in the deal.

Lee Morton, managing partner at Paul Dubberley, said he was “confident that the move will both significantly boost the Paul Dubberley business and help us to continue the growth achieved over recent years”.

He added: “This marks the next step in the development of Paul Dubberley and the strength, expertise and support provided by Connells will enable us to further enhance our service and gives us the confidence that our vendors and landlords will continue to be given the best service possible.”

Connells, which is based in Bedfordshire, has a branch network of nearly 180 sites which it is continuing to grow organically and through acquisitions.

Elizabeth Brown, divisional managing director at Connells, said: “This acquisition allows us to further strengthen our position in the local market, extends our market leading services to even more customers and enables Paul Dubberley to continue to grow as part of a wider group.”

The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
